More stuff

Kaya also refuses to eat unless she gets to feed herself with a spoon. even if that means smearing it all over her high chair. She's also tall enough now to unlock the gates on the porch, open up all drawers in the kitchen, and take things off of countertops and other high surfaces. it's been very eventful at home. ha ha.
she also HATES the swiffer wetjet and anything else that makes noise (except for the vacuum, which she looooooves). if she sees something that makes noise, she shakes her finger at it and says quite sternly - "no noise. no noise". This includes but is not limited to: Elmo, the swiffer wetjet, the power drill, a red fire extinguisher that eerily resembles elmo, the vacuum at school, a few puzzles, and the coffee grinder.
Last night while Mommy was singing to Kaya, Kaya tried to put her binky (which she calls bee-bee) in Mommy's mouth. guess Kaya doesn't like Mommy's singing voice!
If Kaya hears good music, she immediately starts to break it down and dances and spins like a crazy person. Kaya is already the best dancer in the house!
Kaya also said "Guiness" yesterday. Isn't guiness a lucky cat!?

Bad Mommy

Mommy has been delinquint in blog entries lately! sorry!

Kaya has been doing well. She added more words to her vocab - especially 2 syllable words like cracker, pretzel, flower, and of course bubbles. and she is starting to use 2 word sentences on occasion too - like Bye Bye da-da, and cars go bye bye. things like that. she also has started actually saying PLEASE instead of just signing 'please'. that has been refreshing. :)

Have I written about the bubble obsession? It's been insane. Kaya talks about bubbles non stop and has even woken up in the middle of the night to say "bubbles. bubbles" before falling immediately back to sleep. Kaya got a bubble gun for east from her grandparents, and she quickly learned how to use the bubble gun on her own, dip it in the bubble solution, and use bubbles to entertain the cats! Kaya's grandparents also have a very nice video of her blowing bubbles, getting frustrated, and saying something at the end that sounds interestingly similar to "G-damn bubbles"! as a side note, mommy and daddy don't use that particular curse, so we don't think that's what she meant!!!
Kaya also loves to draw with sidewalk chalk in the basement or outside if it's nice enough. and she loves to dig in the dirt beside mommy and daddy when they plant flowers. She's really enjoying the fact that spring is here.
Other fun stuff:
Kaya's hair is now long enough to fit in a ponytail.
Kaya's favorite foods lately are chicken, pizza, oranges. she even eats whole apples by herself now!
Kaya loves to stand up on her chair when Mommy isn't looking, and then laugh hysterically when she gets "caught". The look on her face is something that I wish I could record forever. she know's she's being bad, and she is so damn proud of herself.
Kaya loves to hide under the covers and say "Kaya? Kaya? - basically pretending she's hiding from herself or playing peek a boo with herself. very cute.
When she showers (no baths for Kaya!) she likes to take the soap and clean the shower walls, saying "clean clean clean the whole time". We have a fight every single time she gets out of the shower though - first she doesn't want to get out, then she doesn't want to get dried off, then she doesn't want her hair dry, and last, she doesn't want that diaper on.!
A new thing for Kaya is carrying around a bunch of bibs in her arms, like they are a blankey or something like that. she won't actually wear them as bibs, but she loves to carry them around.
Mommy didn't hide eggs for Kaya this easter because Kaya was (and is) more than happy to just take the eggs apart and put them back together again over and over. what a great 'toy'.
Apparently Kaya is learning things at daycare, because she taught mommy a whole new way of singing "Wheels on the Bus" and "Twinkle Twinkle little star" complete with hand motions. and she started blowing kisses too!
